Home News Blog Say hello to spring with these lighter bites

Latest news

It’s been a long time coming, but winter is officially over. To celebrate the start of the season and the promise of warmer days we’ve gathered together some of our favourite spring recipes starring Snowdonia cheeses and chutneys. Each one is ideal for enjoying as part of an indoor picnic or alfresco feast.

For a lighter lunch that’s heavy on wholesome veggies, transform a humble flatbread into a vegetarian pizza with Green Thunder, our mature Cheddar with roasted garlic and herbs. It’s loaded with red pepper, courgette, red onion and green olives and cleverly uses our tangy Spiced Tomato & Vodka Chutney as the pizza sauce.

And you can’t beat a simple sandwich for a springtime garden lunch, so make the most of the milder weather with our Rock Star baguette. Cherry tomatoes and our Balsamic Caramelised Onion Chutney – traditionally crafted with aged balsamic vinegar of Modena – are the perfect match for our distinctively rich cave-aged Cheddar, while gherkin slices and peppery rocket leaves add lots of extra zing.

Finally, our garden picnic mini boards are our favourite grazing go-to – whether you’re enjoying them outside or in. Piled high with the fresh flavours of fruits, berries and herbs, they’re a wonderful way to share a feast of classic Snowdonia cheeses – Black Bomber, Beechwood and Red Storm – and our Pear, Date & Cognac Chutney.
