Latest news

This Valentine’s Day, surprise that special someone with a lovingly crafted cheeseboard. Combine the unmistakably rich and creamy flavours of their favourite Snowdonia cheeses with accompaniments with different flavours, textures, shapes and colours and you’re sure to win their heart all over again.

Here are our step-by-step tips to creating a beautiful sharing platter for two:

Pick a platter

If you have a heart-shaped board, now is the perfect time to use it, or treat yourself to a slate or olive wood serving board for the occasion. However, you can use any large plate, wooden cutting board or serving dish – the cheese is the star here.

Select your cheeses

For the most romantic day of the year, we recommend our award-winning Black Bomber and Red Storm, plus our new Rock Star Fondue Cheese Bake. However, any three Snowdonia Cheddars, Red Leicesters and cheese bakes are sure to hit the spot.

Prepare the truckles

To enjoy the colourful wheels of Snowdonia cheese at their best, take them out of the fridge, allow them to reach room temperature and remove the labels. After that, carefully use a very sharp knife to create cubes, wedges or slices. You can read our full preparation guide here.

Choose your chutneys

Our range of chutneys – including Balsamic Caramelised Onion, Fig & Apple and Rhubarb & Gin – are made using recipes unique to Snowdonia Cheese and are cooked in the traditional way in copper pans. Choose two or three to bring an added burst of flavour to your board, served in their little jars or decanted into a pretty dish.

Bring on the trimmings

This is where you can let your imagination run wild. Fold up their favourite charcuterie, add some Snowdonia crackers, tear up a loaf of crusty sourdough – the choice is yours. Freshly cut crudités, such as tomatoes, radishes and carrots, add a burst of colour. A beautiful board should look rich and bountiful, so fill all the gaps with fresh herbs, rocket leaves, nuts, grapes and berries.

…And serve

Present your creation with a glass of chilled rosé and enjoy.
