For the second time, Black Bomber has been named the best-selling British cheese brand in speciality food shops nationwide, in an annual survey by the respected trade magazine, Fine Food Digest.
‘Best Brands’ is an annual supplement, published by the prestigious Guild of Fine Food. Their results are compiled from thousands of postal, email and telephone responses provided by the country’s leading delis, cheesemongers, farm shops and high-end foods halls. It is the sixth year that the survey has been carried out, identifying the best-performing products in a dozen core categories – covering everything from biscuits to tea.
Black Bomber extra mature cheddar was voted the best-selling British cheese, ahead of a traditionally-made Stilton and a West Country Farmhouse Cheddar. The survey was distributed to over 4,000 speciality food stores, including members of the Guild of Fine Food, which also runs the influential Great Taste awards scheme and the World Cheese Awards.
“We’re absolutely over the moon that Black Bomber has regained the title of Best British Cheese Brand for another year. This is a real achievement, when there are so many great cheeses on the market. You always hope that you’ll feature in the Best Brands shortlist but to reach the top spot again is really something. It proves that our best selling cheese has established itself in the hearts and stomachs of our customers and stands out as the original and best in the waxed truckle format.”
