Home News Blog Crown your Christmas party table with a Celebration Cheese Cake

Latest news

This December, grant every cheese lover’s Christmas wish: skip the traditional fruitcake and let the truckles steal the spotlight. If you’re looking to add a unique and delicious twist to your festive gatherings, our Celebration Cheese Cake is always a party showstopper – a mouthwatering feast that your guests will remember long after the last crumb (or cheese wedge) is gone.

A celebration of our finest Cheddars and Red Leicesters, this towering four-tier centrepiece features a mighty 2kg wheel of Red Storm, our classic vintage Red Leicester; 400g Black Bomber, our our creamy extra mature Cheddar; 200g Green Thunder mature Cheddar with roasted garlic and aromatic herbs; and 150g Rock Star, our distinctively rich cave-aged vintage Cheddar.

How to build your Celebration Cheese Cake

Building your own cheese tower is fun and very easy to do. Watch how to make one here or carry on reading to find out how you can make it the star of your Christmas gathering:

Gather your ingredients and tools

  • Your cheeses: Red Storm, Black Bomber, Green Thunder and Rock Star
  • A sturdy cake stand or a large, flat platter
  • Decorations such as fresh herbs, grapes, figs or chestnuts for festive flair

Arrange the base layer

Start with the largest cheese: Red Storm (2kg). Place it in the centre of the cake stand or platter as the base layer. You can leave the wax on for visual appeal, but if you prefer, you can remove it for a smoother look. This is your foundation, so make sure it’s stable.

Add the cheese tiers

Next, take the Black Bomber (400g) and place it directly on top of the Red Storm. Now stack the Green Thunder (200g) and Rock Star (150g). These smaller cheeses, placed in size order, will create an elegant tiered effect. Arrange them in a way that creates balance, but don’t stress too much about perfection – it’s all about fun and creativity.

Add Christmas decorations

To make your Celebration Cheese Cake even more festive, add some decorative elements. Place small sprigs of rosemary and sliced figs around the cheese for a seasonal touch. A few grapes or slivers of pear add a pop of colour and sweetness.

Serve with care

Make sure to serve your cheese at room temperature for the best flavour and texture. Offer  Snowdonia crackers, fresh bread and fruits – such as figs, apples or pears – for guests to enjoy alongside the cheese. You can also offer a selection of chutneys to complement the flavours.
